Artist Statement
My work explores the relationship between acquired synesthesia and midlife subcultures. With influences as diverse as Nietzsche and Roy Lichtenstein, new tensions are crafted from both opaque and transparent dialogues.
Ever since I was a student I have been fascinated by the endless oscillation of meaning. What starts out as vision soon becomes corroded into a tragedy of power, leaving only a sense of dread and the inevitability of a new synthesis.
As wavering replicas become distorted through frantic and diverse practice, the viewer is left with a tribute to the limits of our condition.

About Rempstone
Rempstone is an ancient and mysterious parish in Dorset, UK. It contains a manor house, a stone circle and many ancient monuments. It’s somewhere I’ve always enjoyed visiting, especially the stone circle, but apart from that I have no connection with the place.
